Is there any way to find out your credit score for free?
I know how to get a free credit report, but they say if you want to know your score you have to pay a fee. If I'm applying for a mortgage can I ask the lender what it is? I just got pre-approved and all he said was it was "excellent."

- I asked my lender and she told me. I asked when I got my motgage in October and my car last August. Didn't seem like it was a problem.
- You should ask the lender what the number is. He can tell you since he has the number. Good luck.
- Your lender can tell you your score they just can not give you a copy of your report. I tell people their scores all the time.
- If it's your FICO score. I don't think you can get it for free. You can ask the mortgage lender what it is, and usually, if they have the information they will give it to you. If you have been refused a loan, then you may be able to get a free copy from Fair Isaac.
